Job Description 

LS Technologies is seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer or Technical Specialist to provide support for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Cybersecurity Task Order on the SE2025 contract vehicle. 

 Responsibilities

  • Serve as an IP Network and Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the Cybersecurity team in the design, development, and delivery of enterprise level cybersecurity solutions for the National Airspace System (NAS).
  • Develop NAS cybersecurity architectures that meets FAA programmatic operational objectives while maintaining and improving FAA security standards.
  • Analyze new architectures and technical refresh efforts for NAS cybersecurity policy compliance.
  • Ensure NAS systems are compliant with FAA, NIST, and Federal Government regulations prior to initial system activation.
  • Develop policy and procedures to integrate NAS cybersecurity efforts with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS).
  • Create, publish, and enforce FAA Air Traffic Organization (ATO) NAS cybersecurity requirements.
  • Participate and lead FAA meetings to address customer security issues and questions.
  • Brief key FAA stakeholders on development and implementation of NAS cybersecurity enterprise level solutions.
  • Review white papers, standards, policies, and best practices to provide expertise on how the FAA can ensure compliance emerging new security requirements.

 Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution(s).
  • 10 years of related experience in the field of telecommunications, network engineering, or information security.
  • 7 years of security related experience with the Federal Government with specialization in critical enterprise telecommunications or network infrastructure.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to pass and maintain a SF85P Public Trust clearance is required.
  • Strong understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack, IP network security architectures, and application layer protocols.
  • Experience in integrating and fulfilling customer requirements.
  • A high level of motivation and technical leadership.
  • The ability to keep current with emerging security technologies, industry standards and government requirements/guidance.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communications skills.
  • Must be a capable user of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment and as part of a team.
  • Strong professional and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong technical background and direct knowledge of FAA systems architecture is highly desired.
  • Employee will need to travel domestically a few weeks per year.
  • Expected work location is near FAA Headquarters, 800 Independence Avenue, SW in Washington, DC.

  • CISSP Certification
  • Current Security Clearance (up to Top Secret)
  • Experience with the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI)
  • Strong understanding of National Institutes of Standards and Technologies directives and guidance
  • Knowledge of aviation operations and issues in the National Airspace System
